Commander’s Message

Greetings to You All,

Great news, we are officially a debt free post!!! On Friday, April 16 our Quartermaster Ken Malone paid SunTrust Bank the remaining balance of our building loan. On June 12, we will be having a Mortgage Burning celebration so make sure to mark your calendars and come celebrate!

We are currently still talking with the contractor, but barring any unforeseen issues arising, we plan to have the parking lot redone sometime during the first week of June. It has been really deteriorating and in need of being revitalized. It will be completely resurfaced and re-striped and should make it much easier drive, park and walk on.

Your patronage and ongoing support of your post have made it possible to complete these initiatives. Thanks to all of you for making our post so successful!!!!

May you all have a great month of May and I look forward to seeing and visiting with you at the post.

With Respect To You All,

Kenny Vaughan

VFW Auxiliary President’s Message

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.

April was another busy month for the auxiliary. Our Friday bake sales, shotgun

bingo, and 50/50 are doing great.

On April 5 th, the auxiliary hosted a Rib dinner. We did ok. We have had so many events going on in April and more coming in May, that we decided to put the once-a-month dinner on hold temporarily.

On April 10 th, Veterans for a Cause held a Poker Run for, Canine Partners for

Patriots. The auxiliary presented them with a $250.00 check to help support their

On April 17, Post 4412, celebrated our District Commander’s, Wayne Tuttle,

retirement. Thanks to a lot of family and friends, a great time was had by all.

Our Monthly meeting will be held on May 5 th. We will be installing our new

incoming officers. We will also be presenting a $500.00 scholarship award to

Cadet Briar Lee, of the JROTC, before our meeting, at 6:30 pm.

On May 15 th, the auxiliary will be hosting a USO show featuring the, Almost

Andrew Sisters and the JK Crum band. The Young Marine Color Guard will also be

there. There will be food, basket raffles, and 50/50. We will also be needing

volunteers for this event. If you are interested in helping there is a signup sheet

on the bathroom door by the pool table.

I would like to thank all of you who have volunteered your time, and those who

have participated and supported our events. We couldn’t do what we do without

Proudly Serving our Veterans

The Weapon we are raffling off right now is a M & P Shield 9MM. We are only selling 200 tickets at $10 each. All proceeds are going to the Because We Care Foundation to help Veterans and their families! The winner will be drawn at our Charter Party May 22nd.  See one of the Riders for your ticket!

Biker Angel be my guide

As I climb on my scoot to ride

Let your Halo light my way

And keep me safe from harm today

Let your wings provide me wind and air

And send it coursing through my hair

Find me a peaceful sunny place

And let it shine upon my face

Keep the clouds and rain at bay

And keep me dry throughout the day

Watch over those who ride with me

Keep them safe and close to thee

Keep my wheels upon the ground

So I will return here safe and sound

Never Ride Faster than your Guardian Angel Can Fly!
