VFW Auxiliary President’s Message

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the cooler weather we’ve been having.

In October we held a drive for the Stand Down. Thanks to all that participated and donated,

we collected a lot of clothing, shoes, towels, jackets, sleeping bags, and other personal items.

The items were delivered to Safety Town for distribution on October 23 rd . Thanks to all of your donations, we made a lot of homeless veterans very happy. On October 2 nd , we had a Traveling arts party. What a great turn out! We had so much fun painting, and visiting with friends. All the proceeds went to The National Children’s Home.

We have a few events this month. November 11 th is Veterans Day. The auxiliary will be

hosting a breakfast/brunch to honor our Veterans. It will be free for all veterans and a guest.

We are also doing care boxes for veterans and families in need. We are expecting to help 20

families. If you know of any families that need help for the holidays, please let us know. On

November 25 th the auxiliary will be doing a Thanksgiving dinner here at 4412, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We will be needing volunteers and donations for these events. Please keep an eye

out for the sign-up sheets; they will be posted on the bathroom door by the pool table.

Our Friday night bake sale, 50/50, and shotgun bingo are doing very well. We are looking for

people for our dessert committee. We also need people to bake, help with sales, and run the

50/50. If you are able to help, or have any questions, please contact Katy Vaughan or myself.

Please don’t forget to pay your auxiliary dues before December 31 st . If you know of anyone

interested in joining the auxiliary, please let us know. We are more than happy to help. I would

like to thank everyone who volunteered, donated, or participated in our events. We appreciate

all that you do to help.

Proudly Serving our Veterans
